I. Maintenance Instructions
1. Dust on doors and windows should be cleaned regularly to keep the doors, windows, glass, and hardware components clean and shiny.
2. If windows and doors are stained with stubborn residues such as oil, it is not advisable to use strong acid or strong alkaline solutions for cleaning. Strong acids or strong alkalis can easily damage the smoothness of the profile surface and degrade the protective film and oxide layer on the hardware components, leading to rusting of the hardware.
3. The granular debris and other foreign objects inside the window and door frames should be promptly cleaned to prevent them from clogging the drainage channels, which could lead to poor drainage and water leakage.
4. When opening or closing doors and windows, apply consistent force and try to maintain a steady speed throughout the process.
5. Avoid striking doors and windows with hard objects or scratching the surface of the profiles.
6. Avoid using open flames directly to grill doors and windows; when using open flames, be sure to keep them away from doors and windows.
7. In the event of severe weather such as typhoons or heavy rain, the opening sashes should be closed.
8. If you notice that doors and windows become difficult to open or close smoothly, or if any other abnormalities occur during use, promptly identify the cause. If the customer is unable to resolve the issue on their own, they should contact the manufacturer of the doors and windows so that the problem can be addressed in a timely manner.
Maintenance of window and door profiles
All profiles manufactured by aluter feature high-end, specially patented formulations that deliver exceptionally outstanding physical performance and are remarkably easy to maintain. To clean the surfaces of window and door profiles, simply use a common, neutral detergent to restore their surfaces to a gleaming, like-new condition.
Please note that when selecting a cleaning agent, avoid using chemicals that could damage the surface of the profiles, such as gasoline. The amount of cleaning agent you use should also be proportional to the degree of soiling on the doors and windows. If you find during the cleaning process that certain stains cannot be removed, please contact us.

Maintenance of door and window seals
The original seals from aluter offer excellent resistance to aging. When cleaning your doors and windows, be sure to also thoroughly clean any dirt or grime off the seals. If you periodically apply silicone oil to the seals, their service life will be significantly extended.

Maintenance of Window and Door Hardware
Periodic use of lubricants is an important step in ensuring the flexibility and functionality of door and window hardware components. Applying some non-acidic lubricants to the moving parts of door and window hardware can effectively enhance your overall experience with these products.

Ventilation and Heating / Cooling
In theory, high-quality doors and windows are completely airtight. Therefore, while enjoying the energy-saving benefits they provide, it’s also important to ensure scientific ventilation to keep the indoor air fresh and healthy.
Under conditions where through ventilation can be achieved indoors, a ventilation time of 5 minutes is both standard and necessary. In situations where through ventilation cannot be established, simply opening the window fully will take approximately 10 minutes.
The best ventilation effect is achieved by ventilating approximately 3 to 4 times per day. It’s important to note that if furniture or other obstructions are blocking airflow, the ventilation time should be extended accordingly. In kitchens and bathrooms, where air humidity tends to be higher, you should ventilate even more frequently each day. Typically, if you notice condensation on glass surfaces, that’s a sign it’s time to ventilate.

After the doors and windows are installed, perform a thorough cleaning.
Although window and door installers have already taken care of the surfaces of windows and doors, we still recommend that you perform a thorough cleaning after moving into your new home or after replacing your windows and doors, thereby ensuring a longer service life for your windows and doors.
